Christmas Shopping

My list is looking a little shaky as Santa's letters kept being altered by small enthusiasts. My fault for being too slow to post them after grabbing a screen shot I guess.
Do you keep your childrens letters? I feel its a bit like baby teeth. Has to happen but I can't actually bear to let them go.

We are having christmas at home this year which I love because the day starts sooooo early -sparrows! ) and the kids don't want to get dressed and leave their new goodies and frankly neither do I. Or rather I don't want to leave the bottle of bubbles just opened. The month is flying by already and we haven't baked the gingerbread house or listened to enough cheesy carols or even visited the big dude in red. I'm running out of time! Typical holiday season chaos.

Alfie Wild is busy with christmas right now with so many fabulous goodies online. Wrapping them up in bright red spots fills me with cheer. Did I tell you I love Christmas?

BACK TO SCHOOL-NUNUNU

Iris and Tali are the creatives behind Israeli brand NUNUNU. When the offerings for children were a sea of colour and a maze of prints their yearned for something stylish and more worthy of a young person to build their own ideas and perspectives upon. They never bowed to the assumptions that becoming a parent removed you from being cool and they wanted for their children what they wanted for themselves-style that was comfortable and superb quality. When their search came back empty their turned to their own imagination and created a world of minimalism for children. Starting with black for its simplicity and innocence they designed a range ready to fulfil dreams and ideas, a blank slate upon which to build.

Over the years the brand has built on those foundations and you see witty details and the insertion of select colours with each range and they are a favourite brand with celebrities dressing their kids in something that reflects their own style.

Back To School is Pre-Fall16 and it is an edgy mix of graphic prints and vintage wash along with the simple silhouettes they are so good at. Details like diagonal zips and ninja masks that pull out of the neck of a sweater are signature details the brand is known for.

You will find the range online now at alfiewild.com including the brands signature skull T's and star print baggy pants.

FOR THE LOVE OF GREEN

Do you have a heart swelling pulse racing favourite colour? Do you search for it, ache for it, fill your home and your wardrobe with it?

I am a colour person. I have tried valiantly to be a minimalist monochrome loving person but I can't do it. That monochrome tidal wave on instagram just about killed me. Black and white is an accessory to make a colour pop for me. I gave it a whirl but the colour creeps back in fairly quickly.

There is a particular shade of green that I refer to as my 'dessert island' green. I wouldn't need food to sustain me if I could gaze upon that glorious shade. It drives my husband insane because its not quite grass green, not emerald, not murky yet not to bright. I know it when I see it. It caused me to buy six sets of pegs at Ikea the other month because they had the right green. Well it was close.

When I was pregnant with our first son we painted the walls green. A lovely shade called Wasabi. It was actually a little softer than wasabi and made a very pretty (not feminine) rather neutral and calming space for one then two boys to sleep in. I cried when they discontinued that colour.
Green is wonderful in childrens rooms.

In our last house we painted a wall green. I know you're sighing- feature wall. I negotiated one wall. I had asked for the entire room......
It was pretty close to the green of my dreams and with white floors and walls it made me so happy. When we sold our house the first thing the new owners did was paint over it with a mushroom insipid biege shade. That also made me cry. Then they carpeted over my painstakingly painted white floors. we are all so different aren't we!

I have a constant battle when falling in love with rugs, furniture, artworks, light fittings and all the decorative goodies to be found in greens. I want it all to be greens.
The resurgence of house plants has been a brilliant gift. We know about the benefits for the air (they weren't silly in the 70's) but for the lovers of green it is a dream!

One thing I have always wanted is a green kitchen. Would you do your entire kitchen in your heart dancing favourite colour? How do you choose the shade or do you combine them. Could you do ALL the cabinets or the tiles (commitment!) or perhaps just the accessories before you get your courage up?

That green trolley makes me want the entire kitchen.

With green I find it calms me, makes me incredibly happy. It can be vintage and modern and works with so many other colours and styles that you can always slip it in. I run the gamut these days and teal has part of my heart. The sea. The sky. The land. All together bringing me joy and filling my future house plans.

This Harlowe pendant light stopped me in my tracks in Soho. Literally. Unlit it is a deeper green and on or off it is stunning over a dining table in large.

The stunning teal/emerald Iris overdyed rug.

EASTER CRAFT GAME ON!

If you're all ready with your Easter crafting fest then you might like to add these to the list. There is something about the cuteness and freshness of Easter that appeals to my crafty heart more than Christmas. Also it is a MUCH less frantic time of year so you can sit around enjoying the activities in a more relaxing way.
Today I have a super cute set of free printables for you from Love Mae. You can of course find their dinner sets in our store.

The truth is that rabbits don't lay eggs. It's tradition, we get it, but it can't hurt to consider some alternatives to the chocolate, particularly those that don't result in maniacal sugar highs..and tears when you eventually lie and say that the ants got into the chocolates and you had to throw them away ( or they went off-anything other than mummy and daddy ate your stash!)

This Bunny Shrine craft project featuring a beautiful origami rabbit will keep your little people busy and get you all excited for Easter.

Ready? First you'll need to warm up your printer.

-BUNNY FOOTPRINTS

-ORIGAMI BUNNY

-ORIGAMI PAPER TEMPLATE

Don't forget you can tuck Easter surprises into your Love Mae cups and they look super sweet at the Easter table. And if you need a bit of extra help with the paper folding then you can watch this youtube

Other ideas I'm loving-
- Giant Bunnies
- Paint Fun Party
- Glitter Eggs
- Pompom Bunny
- Bunny Cookies
- Bunny Treat Bags
- Bunny Ears

Have a fun filled Easter!
